A 7-inch woofer buys real extension and needs more room to work in, so in a small untreated space it can create more problems than it solves.

Boundary compensation switches. Rear controls that cut low end to compensate for a wall or corner. In a real bedroom this affects what you hear more than the difference between two brands.
